Fuller Stone Care sealant is non film-forming. Our sealant is able to work without changing the appearance of the surface and keeps the original look. Fuller Stone Care sealant is suitable for indoor and outdoor use and is able to greatly reduce water uptake in addition to minimizing moss growth, freeze thaw spalling and efflorescence.
Sealant is ideal for marine and pool areas. It is highly water vapour permeable and breathes so there is no build-up of subsurface moisture which allows it to dry ou yet it is deeply penetrating in order to protect against weather and wear. Because it is very alkali resistant, it won’t breakdown when it comes in contact with cement based materials, and is able to seal hairline cracks up to 0.3 mm and does not flake or peel.
It’s the perfect solution for preservation of flagstone, slate, engineering concrete, terracotta tile, cast stone, paving, sandstone, limestone, brick, etc. For further information: http://fullerstonecare.com/stonecareandrepair/index.php/features/sealing
Stone Restoration jobs are usually charge by the job. Square footage pricing is not practical. Each type of stone will present its own unique challenges as will the consumer’s desired result for each surface. Many aspects need to be taken into consideration, such as where in the building the stone to be restored is located, water and electricity supplies available, etc. Regardless of the cost, it is always less than the price of replacement and most times you will have an installation that looks as good as, if not better than new.
Polished natural stone reflects light and does not need a topical coating or wax to achieve this desired finish. It only needs a series of diamond grits used in the proper order by a master technician who is experienced in their use. This followed by a careful polishing technique that can only be learned from experience.
Polish
A polished finish leaves a glossy surface that reflects light and emphasizes the stone’s movement or variegation. Polished finishes are typically used on wall tiles, marble, concrete and floor tiles.
Honed Finish
Honed is a satin smooth stone surface that does not reflect much light. Because it can stand up to the wear and tear of heavy traffic, honed finishes are commonly used on floors, stair tread and other thresholds.
Flamed Finish
Stone’s that maintain a rough textured surface were fabricated with a flame finish. Leaving the stone with a more natural and organic look and feel, flamed finishes are usually only used on granite floor tiles. This is a controlled burning of the stone so that the crystals “pop” creating the unique finish.
When cleaning your natural stone surface, you’re using cleansers and techniques you assume to be safe. While these may be safe for tile, they can damage natural stone! After we restore your stone surface to its original beauty, we will educate you on the proper way to care for your natural stone. We can even provide a supply of our recommended daily stone cleaner.
Common kitchen detergents contain harmful chemicals which might cause damage to the floor. This may lead to corrosion or may cause the floor to discolor. After you apply the solution on the floor, you should wipe the portion clean to reduce the chances of blemishes and spots. The marble floor should be free of dust. You can clean and mop them with a dry cloth. A mild neutral ph cleanser should be helpful in keeping the floor clean. You can install a floor mat at the entrance of the room to keep away the gravel, sand and dirt. From time to time, you can polish the floor so that the luster and smoothness of the stone remains intact.
These are Fuller Stone Cares standard set of procedures to begin your stone restoration.
Consultation / Evaluation
First, we inspect your stone and perform a number of tests to determine type of stone. We will inspect the wear patterns and damage on the stone. This will allow us to be very precise in our diagnosis of the problem and give you a snapshot of what your stone surface should look like.
With the use of state-of the-art equipment and materials, we will restore your stone surface to its original beauty. All work will be completed in a professional and timely manner.
Daily Maintenance Training
Most people use what they consider to be “safe” techniques and chemicals on their stone to care for it on a daily basis. What may be safe for tile or ceramic, can be damaging to natural stone. After we restore your stone surface to its original beauty, we will train you or your cleaning people on how to maintain a restored appearance on a routine basis. We can even leave you with our recommended daily stone cleaner to use.
Periodic Follow-Up Restoration
Even after stone has been restored its new beautiful appearance is not permanent. Proper daily care will greatly extend the beautiful appearance, but on-going foot-traffic and other factors will always be wearing away at the bright, clean appearance. A periodic maintenance program will mean additional expense, but it will ensure a beautiful floor at all times and prevent the need for a complete restoration in the future. After restoration, we can design a periodic restoration schedule. The frequency will be determined by both the needs of your specific stone and the appearance level that you would like to maintain.
